The images of loss and devastation in Japan have left me speechless. The utter tragedy of the situation and the challenge of moving forward and rebuilding is incomprehensible. My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to Japan during this crisis. There’s so much needed, and so much needing to be done, that I have felt driven to help however I can. One of my favorite blogging sisters, the beautiful Rosie over at Sweetapolita, shared something this evening that has inspired me and given me a way to help, and show my support and respect for Japan.
It’s a relief effort called For Japan With Love that the amazing Ever Ours and Utterly Engaged have launched. They have joined with ShelterBox, a disaster relief organization that provides “emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most.” Please visit For Japan With Love to contribute and learn more.Tomorrow, March 18th, 2011, I am participating in the Bloggers Day of Silence in honor of the brave people of Japan. My blog will be silent Friday, but I ask you all to do what you can to help, as will I…every little bit does so much more than we can imagine.
Have a safe weekend. I will be back Monday morning with a new post.
