Bakingdom’s (not really) New and (yes, really) Improved Look

Change is in the air…can you feel it? Or rather, see it? It’s not a vast difference, but I recently enlisted a mega talented illustrator that I’ve been obsessed with a fan of for quite a while to give my homemade, patched together banner a refurb.

If you feel the urge to give a drumroll or some exciting fanfare, now would be the time…

TA-DA!!!

Isn’t it lovely?! Subtle? Yes. Beautiful? Absolutely.

The truth is, I really loved my old banner. I designed it myself and put it together. I created my sweet little birdy myself. I felt like the whole banner did a wonderful job representing me and my blog, and what I’m all about. True, there could stand to be a touch of the wizarding world added, not to mention a sprinkling of TARDIS blue, but strictly blog-wise, I’ve always adored it. I knew it could be more, though. I didn’t want to change it, just refresh it.

That’s when I hitched up my pants and contacted Jerrod Maruyama. Alright, now honestly, sending him an email was an intimidating experience for me, because I’m not exaggerating when I say I’m a fan. For me, it was along the same lines as contacting a famous musician or something. Really, though, what’s the worst he could say? Just a plain, old ‘no.’ He said ‘yes,’ though! *SQUEEEEE* (Oh yeah. I just did that.)

Anyway, Jerrod took my old sweet, sort of faded, but still whimsical patchwork banner and made it new, vibrant, cohesive, and even more whimsical. I love it. I love it as much as I loved my old banner and then so much more! And that’s why I’m bragging about it today…and just cause I can. ;)

I hope you all love the slightly new, definitely fresher look of the blog. Have a fabulous day, friends!

P.S. Keep your eyes out for more exciting collaboration with Mr. Maruyama in the future.
